The 2026 Texas Junior Angora Goat Show
Saturday, January 17, 2026

The Texas Junior Angora Goat Show
(TJAGS) is open to all exhibitors in the State of Texas. Our mission is to remain the largest Angora Goat Show with the highest paid premiums and scholarships.

Check in of goats was held the Friday before the show beginning about 3:00 p.m., concluding about 7:00 PM.
We had 32 Exhibitors register 222 angora goats for this year'
s show.

Our judge this year was Andy Laughlin.

The show Saturday saw Exhibitors and their families arriving early to prepare their angora goats for the show and the show began at 8:00 AM with the presenting of the United States and Texas flags by Andie Harter and Catrina Craddock. Ricki Venable lead the group in singing the National Anthem followed by Karlyn Patterson leading everyone in prayer. Dr. Fred Speck then made a short announcement introducing the show Judge and arena show hands.

The judging of the six classes of angora goats began after the opening ceremonies and included: Class 1 – Buck Kids, Class 2 – Yearling Bucks, Class 3 – Aged Bucks, Class 4 – Kid Does, Class 5 – Yearling Does and then Class 6 – Aged Does. Winners in these classes were:

Class 1 – Buck Kids: 1st Place – Stella Harter, 2nd Place – Andie Harter
Class 2 – Yearling Bucks: 1st Place – Ian Michael Garcia, 2nd Place – Bridgette Wilde
Class 3 – Aged Bucks: 1st Place – Andie Harter, 2nd Place – Kelbi Blesing
Class 4 – Doe Kids: 1st Place – Rylynn Ward, 2nd Place – Stella Harter
Class 5 – Yearling Does: 1st Place – Andie Harter, 2nd Place – Stella Harter
Class 6 – Aged Does: 1st Place – Andie Harter, 2nd Place – Stella Harter

After the judging of the goat classes was completed the Champion goats for Bucks & Does were judged and awarded. Winners of these awards were:

Champion Registered Angora Buck – Ian Michael Garcia
Reserve Champion Registered Angora Buck – Bridgette Wilde
Champion Registered Angora Doe – Rylynn Ward
Reserve Champion Registered Angora Doe – Andie Harter

And finally the judging for the Show Grand Champions was performed with the winners of these awards being:

Grand Champion Angora Goat of Show – Ian Michael Garcia
Reserve Grand Champion Angora Goat of Show – Rylynn Ward

Awards were also presented for:

TJAGS Junior Showmanship – Stella Harter
TJAGS Senior Showmanship – Marilyn Martinez
TJAGS Top Hand – Hadley Rogers
Premier Exhibitor – Kelbi Blesing (Bridgette Wilde was runner-up and received the scholarship)

Over $30,000 was awarded to Exhibitors in scholarships and premiums and many belt buckles, rosettes and added premiums were also awarded. To the exhibitor of the Grand Champion Registered Angora Goat and Premier Exhibitor $10,000 scholarships were awarded. Premiums totaled $5506. To the Top Hand exhibitor $300 cash and a buckle were awarded. Added premiums were given to over 80% of all entries in the show! The least amount given to a placing animal was $25. That amount covers the entry fee ($25) of that animal. The fact an exhibitor can recover a large portion of their entry fees helps make this the best attended show in the world. This year entries are up 21%!!

We need to say “Thanks!” to our show sponsors who donated over $13,000 to date in support of this year’s event.

We must give a huge “Thanks!” to Linda Speck and her crew who arranged for, and served, the noon meal. They prepared the side dishes including the beans and potato salad - no small project! The brisket was provided by the Simon family.

And finally, thanks to all our Exhibitors and their families and friends. Without their preparation and participation this event would not be possible. The time they spend in preparation for and showing their angora goats is tremendous. Thank you for your contribution to the show.
